This mug is hand built with an earthy red clay by rollin and attaching coils of the clay on top of one another. A method typically used for creating larger pots and other vessels, but it works great for smaller pieces too. :) While the inside gets smoothed out by blending the coils together, the outside was left with an organic texture that’s fun to hold.

A colored terra sigillata (very fine slip) was then applied to the body for a nice pop of color.

Fired to cone 5 in an electric kiln.

Microwave safe, but I don’t recommend using the dishwasher.
